About: Lynfield Mount Hospital

Anything else?

We have been visiting a family member for the past 3 weeks in this hospital, we feel like there is no compassion or understanding by staff for any patients on this ward! We haven't seen a doctor or had any kind of CPA meeting regarding our family member, this does not apply to all staff members we have had some positive visits, but mainly negative with certain members of staff, they have left us feeling very concerned about our family member due to hearing them conversing with other patients. The way some of the staff speak to patients is totally unacceptable! Compassion and understanding is a must with these kind of patients, I know this as I myself work in a similar environment. Vulnerable adults, as these people are, need reassurance and compassion, and from what I see they get nothing from certain members of staff! There is no interaction from staff with patients most patients walk around like zombies, while staff sit in the office! We, as a family are disgusted with what we see and we have no choice but to leave our family member there! Imagine that!? No dignity and no respect for the patients mental health problems. Oh and not to mention diagnosis assumptions from health care assistants.....well done lynfield!! Please avoid this hospital if you or any of your family members should, unfortunately need some mental health help!

I am naturally very concerned to read this feedback and thank you for taking time to share it. Your comments about staff speaking to patients in disrespectful ways and patients being left unseen by Doctors are worrying. Care of this nature is not what our organisation and staff strive to achieve. I am sorry that your experiences and that of your relative are causing such distress to you all. In order to try and investigate your concerns and to be able to help address them, I would very much appreciate you contacting me direct to address them. If you would prefer, you could contact our Patients Advice & Liaison Service (PALS) who act as an intermediary in dealing with cases such as this.. Please can you make direct contact with myself or PALS through Lynfield Mount Hospital Reception on 01274 494194. Bev Knaggs In-patients Services Manager
