About: Royal Bolton Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was rushed to hospital on the 22nd September 2007 having miscarried my son at 5 months. I owe a big thank-you to the fantastic care of the Ambulane service to the excellent care I received from the midwifes. Every member of staff I encountered was friendly and very caring and sympathetic which was very comforting in my time of distress. To the midwife to sat with me until past her shift time so I wouldnt be alone is worth her weight in gold.

What could be improved

The only thing I can think of is whether they could organise for people who have lost babies not to be put on the maternity ward, this is quite distressing, however the staff did their upmost to ensure I wasnt affected that much, and gave me a lot of privacy.

Having a miscarriage can be a very distressing experience, so we're reassured to hear that you received considerate care and support from the staff. We will pass on your comments that women who have lost babies should be cared for in an area away from the maternity unit.
