"Clinical decision unit more like a dumping ground"

I visited whipps A and E on 6th October 13 with my adult son who has drug dependancy and mental Heath problems and health problems who would never admit he had problems to me until that day . I took him to whipps and was very pleased at first as we where red carded straight through to majors and saw a doctor within half and hour they spoke to my son and agreed that he would stay with them as he had obvious mental health , healthissues and they he was concerned with his weight . He had blood tests and we where sent to clinical decisions unit . When we got there there was 3 beds and 2 men sitting on chairs we sat down at 2 and was still sitting there at 4 and nobody had spoke to us to let us know what we even waiting for , there was a very old man sitting upright in a chair nobody spoke to him at all he was urinating in full view of everybody . The doctor there did not have any empathy skills at all and when somebody asked how much long it will be he said what are u here for !!! The reply was u tell me . They did not keep the patients informed at all why we waiting what we was waiting for . My son wanted to leave so I asked the doctor and I was told you are waiting for a doctor . We asked again at 5 and the doctor said im very busy when I asked was I waiting for him he said no . Eventually I spoke to a nurse who said we was waiting for a pysc doctor and they didn't know when they would come . Some patients discharged them selfs as they where getting no information . One man after being there 5 hours asked what was going to be told in front of us all u can go ( he still had the cannula in his arm ) and it was taken out in front of us all . I asked for a drink for my son as none was offered and I asked for his cannula to be removed . We ended up sitting with more men in chairs on drips and a doctor came and gave a diagnosis in front of us all . My son at this point had enough , I went to seek help and as the phys doctor came I directed him to my son .i asked for him not to be spoken to in front of everyone he was taken to a disused room and chairs where found he spoke to the doctor for a hour and I was told he wasn't a danger to anybody and given a leaflet and a help group details when I said about his weight and health he was told to go to his Gp( I can not get him to a Gp) or go privately to a rehab . I felt completely let down by whipps when I had wanted hem to help my son . I don't know now where to turn as he is refusing to seek any further help and by the way we left at 8 and the poor old man was still sitting there in his chair
