My 80 year old father was admitted on Thursday 3rd very weak, short of breath and unable to stand on his own. When admitted to MAU he was told to sit up to have his blood pressure taken he asked us for help and the nurse said no he had to do it himself. He was made to sit up struggle to stand and get into a chair to get weighed and get back on the bed and shuffle up the bed until he was in position to lay down or I would say fall down. The next day he was admitted to a ward and asked for the toilet. He was told we don't do that you have to walk, it was at the other end of the ward and there was a discussion between the nurses before he was brought a comode. The same day I was told he had cancer of the liver. On the Saturday he passed away. I think this was a shocking way to treat a dying man. He didn't want to go to the hospital , we persuaded him to go. If I had known what was to come I would not have done so.
