What I liked
I was brought to the Hospital by Keswick Mountain Rescue Team suffering from hypothermia. I was treated quickly, efficiently and in a very friendly and personal way.
What could be improved
I became aware that the procedure was to transfer me to Carlisle Infirmary. I did not want to move so far away from my friends and family and arranged for family to come and pick me up and if necessary take me to Lancaster Infirmary, much nearer home..
Unfortunately this made things difficult for the staff, for which I apologise. But they seemed to understand. I was taken home by my friend and his wife and managed to recovery fully in their care at home.
The trauma I was suffering was made worse knowing that I was going to be transferred to Carlisle. There must be a better way.
