This review is concerning visiting and having to use the Countess of Chester Hospital Car Park. Review with regard to care and other matters will be reviewed separately when the episode of care is completed. The Countess of Chester Hospital have the disgust to charge patients and visitors £3.00 per visit for an hour, rising up to £7.00 if you are there for a few hours per visit. Visiting an inpatient twice a day during visiting hours you can therefore except to pay at least £6.00 per day. This turns out to be very expensive when they are kept in for several days or longer. Concessions are very few and unlikely for most people. They also charge in the evening, 24 hours per day, when clearly there is much less demand for parking; no out-patient clinics being held and less staff and other corporate visitors. There is no reason why it can’t be free during the evening visiting when the car park is only half full. Cars are also parked illegally outside the Jubilee Day Case Centre, not having to pay but on double yellow lines. Not sure if this is staff or visitors, but nothing seems to be done about this. Clearly making a huge profit from ill patients and their families.
