"Discharged at mid-night & lost items on admission"

About: Good Hope Hospital / Accident & emergency

(as a relative),

Hello my mother was recently taken to A & E. She was then discharged at midnight in a taxi on her own to get home. She is 78 and is not in good health. Is this a policy you normally follow? She was very frightened and scared going home alone and to a empty bungalow.

In early October my mother was found on the floor of her bungalow. The carers called 999. She was taken to A& E. When I got there, she had her bottom set of teeth glasses and nightie. She told me the man had taken her deaf aid out and told her she would not need it. My mother cannot hear a thing without this. I have since been back to her home. I cannot find her top set of teeth, hearing aid or any medication - which I wanted to take up to the hospital to show the staff.

I went back to A& E and asked them if they had these items. They they did not. They said they would radio the paramedics to ask them. It is very difficult for all concerned to communicate with my mother and she also feels very isolated without her hearing aid. I have called again this morning Ward 11 and these items have still not appeared. Someone must have these somewhere - I would appreciate it if you could follow this up for me.
