My intense chest pain required the 999 paramedic to attend me at my home, and he diagnosed a heart attack. The ambulance was called swiftly and I was emergency rushed to the Cardio unit at Basildon Hospital. The team of about a dozen staff were waiting and they operated on me immediately placing a stent in my coronary artery, using key hole surgery through my wrist. From the time of my heart attack at 10:30 am to starting my recovery on the ward was just two hours. The NHS teamwork at Basildon was absolutely fabulous. I spent the next three days at Roding Ward, and the staff were excellent. I have made a very good recovery. Thank you.
