Some nurses were good, but the doctors use teams where the geriatric acute wards are appallingly run, with little interest by the consultants. The day nurses were non communicative and some bullied the patients. This must surely be done with the collusion of the consultants. I have seen them refuse bed pans, commodes and one threw a chaIr across the room from being asked to do something. Refusing painkillers inn the basis that they ve run out. Writing incorrect reports in their files. All to get elderly discharged and tick boxes. Savage. On a positive note, the other nurses nearly made up for the sadism that took place. Don't leave your precious relative on their own in Edgar Horne Ward. A depressing place for visitors and patients.
