I attended the maternty triage because of pain at 38 w +2 and was treated very well by a midwife, she gave me medication and discharged me home.she even phoned me at 06:30 am before finishing her shift to see how i was doing.two days later,I attended the maternity triage again and was transferred to the maternity suite to give birth to my first baby and was told that my baby had passed meconium,I arrived to delivery room 1 and a midwife started looking after both the baby and me.Doctors were coming every little time to check us as well and performed so many blood tests along with monitoring baby's heartbeat to check my baby's health as they suggested to do a cesariene in case labour gets longer because my baby didn't seem to be ok during contractions. Other midwives also looked after us and provided a lot of support. later on i was told by the Doctors that results are satisfactory and that they would try to deliver the baby normally first,so I was taken to theatre and the team was lovely ,everything was quick and I found my baby between my arms,I couldn't believe it the team made it a great experience for me and my husband despite the complications. i also liked the precautions taken after the birth as my baby was taken to neonatal unit for antibioticsas a precaution in case of infection because i had high temperature during labour.we kept taking my daughter there for antibiotics twice a day until we got test results back that were good and were discharged home.i was given painkillers and felt so comfortable even from the episiotomy performed during the birth.i thank all the doctors who looked after us, midwives and anesthetist were great. i would like to thank them all for the great job ,support, respect and efforts they made, many thanks to them and to all the ones who looked after us at the recovery area and Alexandra ward.
"great experience"
