This is a really difficult review to write as the difference between departments at Pinderfields is vast. I have visited the A&E department twice this year for both my partner and myself and have been seen, had x-rays and a follow up appointment made within the hour. I really cannot praise the staff in A&E enough! Following my trip to A&E I was referred to the MST clinic which once again was fantastic. More xrays, specialist doctor and plaster cast applied within the hour once again. However, the fracture clinic is where I believe the hospital and therefore my experience has been let down. Clearly understaffed and told half an hour after my appointment that there is an hour delay is not acceptable. I find this particularly difficult to believe considering my appointment was for 9.24 in the morning so couldn't be blamed on previous appointments over running. Then once I waited to see a doctor for over an hour was left in a room alone for 10 minutes until the doctor was ready to see me. Completely unprofessional. At this appointment I was told to expect a letter with an appointment for an MRI scan. Two weeks later I have received nothing about this appointment and although I have tried ringing the appointment line at different times of day hoping for a response, I am left on hold endlessly. It is unfortunate that the fracture clinic and the appointment line are so poorly managed as they have distracted from a fantastic A&E department and the Physio department whom have incredibly caring, attentive and polite staff. A&E : 10/10 (on both occasions)
"fantastic A&E, let down by poorly managed appntmnt..."
