Anything else?
My elderly mother was bought in by ambulance at 3 in the morning as she was feeling unwell. Although she explained that she had been sick for several days and had symptoms of dehydration we waited 5 hours to see a doctor and nursing staff were rushed off their feet. At no time was she offered a drink of water When the Dr did arrive, mum was being sick so he said he would return - we never saw him again. A & E was incredibly noisy especially when the builders started work. 2 hours later she saw another dr who after various tests referred her to the emergency unit ward to wait for occupational health. She had no reason to see occupational health. She lives in sheltered accommodation and has family to help. He also tested her mental capabilities. We waited in this ward for another 3 hours for occupational health, the nurse in charge barely spoke to mum but kept saying she needed to eat and drink - but did not bring any water. The occupational therapist eventually bought that. The food she was given - a dry cheese sandwich was inedible. We finally left the hospital 14 hours after arriving without mum being treated for what she came in for.
"Hope to never visit A and E here again"
