"Recovery put back through decisions made"

About: St Mary's Hospital (Portsmouth)

Anything else?

I visited the Walk in Centre with pain and swelling in my ankle was told I had pulled a tendon to rest it as much as possible take paracetemol, 2 weeks later I went back as still swollen and painful was told, we told you it would take at least 6 weeks to get better, just do the same. By the 3rd week I was really worried as could not put weight on ankle, went to my own doctor who sent me for an x ray which showed I had a fracture, I was not happy I had been walking on this for 3 weeks. I was given an ankle boot to wear and an appointment to see a doctor in 3 weeks time, they told me without taking an x ray that it was ok now to gradually start walking without the boot over the next few days, this I did and now 11 weeks since this happened I couldn't walk and had to go again to my own doctor to be sent for an x ray to prove I still have a fracture which is now going to take at least another month to repair. If I had been diagnosed right the first time I went this ankle would have been back to normal weeks ago. Having already booked and paid for a holiday where I will be able now to do very little. So all in all I am not happy with my overall experience there.
