Anything else?
I broke my ankle pretty convincingly at the beginning of August. I simply cannot fault any part of the complex medical chain that dealt with me; from the paramedic to the A&E staff, to surgery (I lost track of people introducing themselves and explaining what they were there to do but it is wonderful to see) and onto the ward. Everyone was thorough and efficient but also caring and human, which is of great support when, following an accident, a person's immediate future is suddenly uncertain. I was very surprised and pleased to see my consultant or his/her representative frequently (both Orthopaedics and Plastics consultants) and to be included in what was going to happen to me. I do not know how the Chilmark Suite staff can be so energetic, meticulous, hard-working and yet also caring and fun day in and day out. I am immensely in their debt. I must add that at the same time I was on Chilmark Suite, my 8yo son was admitted to Sarum Ward (tick-bite). My wife (who doesn't drive) had our 3 month old son to look after at the same time. She was looked after incredibly well by both Sarum and Chilmark suite staff and was even accommodated in the hospital for 2 nights to be with us. Given my comprehensive experience of Salisbury Hospital, I can only conclude that a culture of excellence is firmly in place which speaks volumes for all working at the hospital, from the leadership down. Thank you.
