"Not happy"

About: Buckland Hospital

Anything else?

I took my daughter to A&E on 20/9/13 as she had hurt her wrist and thumb. Waiting time was over 90 mins then when we got in to see a nurse she felt my daughters wrist n thumb n said did the other nurse give her a x-ray i said no. she was like oh its shut now. she said oh nothing is wrong and sent us away. I wasnt happy so next day i took her to William Harvey and they was so helpful. Done a x-ray and found out my daughter had fractured her wrist and thumb and now in a plaster caste. Thank You William Harvey for helping my daughter

Response from Julie Pearce, Chief Nurse + Director of Quality + Operations, East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust

Thank you for providing us with feedback, I am sorry that the service you experienced in Dover did not manage your daughters fracture satisfactorily. I am pleased that this was sorted out for you both at our service at WHH the following day. I will feed your experience back to the team so that they can remind staff about early x-ray prior to being seen for treatment would have been very helpful.

I hope your daughter is recovering well.
