Had to rush my partner to A+E, arrived 23:15pm, first time attending this hospital, Urgent Care Team advised that my partner had to be seen by a, E:N:T consultant urgently, we had to drive from Gateshead, parked up, my main concern my partner's wellbeing at this point, not thinking of the people who are making large sums of money, out of people, who are at a time, when they are feeling vulnerable and in a distressed state of mind, there only concern the health of there family, that you can be charged a fee OF £40.00 pounds plus 0.70 pence processing charge, for a over site of not buying a parking ticket, in a near empty car park. Total Time in car park, 1 hour 26 minutes.

We are sorry for your experience with the car parking at our Trust. We recognise that there have been some problems with the system and that has caused undoubted anxiety for a number of patients and visitors. We apologise for any distress caused but the Trust will look at each parking charge notice on an individual basis and rescind the charge should we feel it has been incorrectly issued.
