"The chaos of hospital stay"

About: Darent Valley Hospital / General surgery

(as a relative),

My relative was admitted at 7am in the morning and was kept in recovery until 4. 30pm and was only found a bed after a head nurse intervened. Now he has been discharged at 0930 but is still waiting to have his open wound dressed and to be given drugs and discharge letter and it is 1330, now I can see why there are people being kept on trolleys in recovery!

I really hope he never has to go to this hospital again, charts for his care have been ticked but he has not been asked the questions, how can the nursing staff know if his pain is under control if they have not asked him?

Perhaps they may let him go before it gets dark! ! ! What a shambles!

Dear Dook

We were very sorry to read that your relatives experience at Darent Valley Hospital was not a favourable one. We would very much like to look into his experiences especially your comments regarding the chart being ticked when the questions where not asked.

Please would you be kind enough to contact us on the details below in order that we can investigate.

Kind regards

The Communication Team
