My mother who is an Alziemers sufferer had an operation to remove a large cancerous tumour. She was sent home to recover and she experienced a problem which required her to go straight away to ward 3. I took her to the hospital immediately as requested and found that there was no where to park near the hospital entrance. In fact there wasn't any places to park at all at 10. 30 am on a Monday morning
I stopped a motorist who had just parked and explained my situation she kindly gave up her space.
Next problem my mother could not stand and was In pain, I had to somehow get her out of the car and walk 200 yards to the day clinic where a volunteer helped me to find a wheelchair to transport her to the ward my mother was very distressed and.
The surgeons ward staff nurses and care was excellent,
The logistics at the hospital are woeful and totally inadequate, I would suggest that some one visits the Freeman where there us patient drop off areas to accommodate this very situation.
