"Care for my mum at Farnborough"

My mum was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer in June this year (2013). From the moment of her diagnosis she has received the most outstanding care from a number of departments at Farnborough Hospital.

She was under the care of Mr Smedly and his team of assistant consultants and clinical nurses. They did a fantastic job, informing us of all the pre-operating information. The surgery by Mr Smedly and his team was fantastic and the care shown to my mother in Surgical Ward 8 was brilliant.

When my mother was discharged from hospital, she was given plenty of information and numbers to call if there was any queries. Her follow up appointment with Mr Smedly's team was pleasant and informative. The whole process from investigation, diagnosis to operation was performed in six weeks.

My mum has recovered well from her operation with no complications. She is now on Chemo as a preventative measure. The Oncology team at Farnborough hospital have been outstanding. They care and monitor my mum's treatment every three weeks.

Not everyone has good reports about the NHS, but I would like to say in this public forum that if I had to go anywhere for treatment then Farnborough Hospital is the one hospital I would recommend to everyone.
