"Above and Beyond, NHS to be proud of"

About: Warwick Hospital

Anything else?

I can only give the highest praise to the staff of Warrick A&E department, Orthopedics departments inclusive of the X ray team and the plaster room staff. We had the unfortunate pleasure of visiting the hospitals A&E with a toddler with a fractured leg, and the way we and our son were handled from entrance to exit was professional, courteous and in the best interests of our son, and an understanding of the worry of the parents. The reception staff gave from the get go, the most important of things to any person visiting A&E, good communication and a friendly welcome. We were satisfied with the wait because all importantly we knew there would be one, and as it turns out we didn't actually wait longer than 20 mins to be seen by first stage triage. The nursing staff provided great service, and importantly for me an understanding of the parents views and opinions on our child, understanding that we knew him best, they also assisted me at every stage with my heavy bag whilst i carried a screaming child. The childs A&E area was excellent for young children, and was spotless. As we were lead from X ray department to treatment rooms, I noticed most importantly that all staff, no matter of what rank or position they held were holding fast to the hand cleaning policies so important in a hospital. Finally it is of note that the staff assisted my wife in getting my sleeping son, complete with new leg cast to our car, and even informed security to buzz our car from the carpark, waving the car park fee, due to the visa/debit machine being down. Of personal note going above and beyond was the A&E Sister who embodies the very personification of what we all want our NHS nursing staff to be, professional, courteous, understanding and passionately dedicated to the work of health care. All in all this experience is the NHS, the social system we have all been so proud of for so long.... and rightly so.
