"Non-elective stay on trauma ward and eye hospital..."

I have recently been discharged after a non-elective 5 night stay. Initial stay on trauma ward. Witnessed elderly patients being told that someone would return to help feed them and give them food when they were feeling better,this did not happen. Also witnessed elderly non-english speaking dementia patient waving food away and no effort being made to encourage feeding. Relatives of same patient were communicating clearly patients nutritional needs as patient had been in hopsital for a few weeks at this point. Dissatisfied they arranged food from home and discussed with matron resulting in patient being moved to another bay. Overall feeling of trauma ward was that long stay patients unable to communicate their own needs did not stand stand a chance when it came to nutritional needs and someone to listen to them and explain what was happening. On being moved to eye hospital to a ward with mainly elective patients was marginally better. Communication and care from nursing was non-existent and staff stepped over rubbish on the floor rather then pick it up. Medication timetables were awry and only medical staff seemed concerned about how I felt and asked if I had any concerns. Food in both the MRI and the Eye Hospital were of woeful standard. Plain edible food would have been better tolerated that food covered in glucky cheap cheese sauces and gravies making them smell, look and taste disgusting. Discharge processes also inadequate as told be dr it would been 2 hours then waited 6 hours for discharge letter and TTOs, only to have to explain to discharging nurse myself what the contents of the letter etc meant. and what she needed to do.
