From admission on Skiddaw Ward at 8 am followed by epidural surgery for my hip replacement then transfer to Overwater Ward I can only describe the whole process as brilliant. I was reassured and treat with the utmost dignity and reassurance by each and every member of the team from the nurse who clerked me in to the anaesthetist/consultant /theatre staff /recovery room staff then on to the fantastic nursing/ancilliary staff on Overwater. The ward was spotless,food was great and nothing was too much trouble for both day and night staff .My whole experience put me completely at ease and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend our superb West Cumberland Hospital to anyone - I couldn't have had better treatment if I'd gone in as a private patient. All I can say is thank goodness we have such a facility on our doorstep and I truly hope it remains available for West Cumbrians for many years to come.
