Ambulance Service. First time in my 58 years that I have used an ambulance. Friday 13th Sept 22:00 ambulance called my temp 40.1C feverish. The paramedic and ambulance arrived very quickly the staff were fantastic. Highly trained. Professional and the best. Didn't remember names but arrived in Heston approx 22:25. Thank You 5 Stars. A&E West Middx. Ambulance arrived very quickly. I was met by a young lady who was my. Doctor and a male nursing assistant. I was attended to immediately, fluid, bloods, urine, x-Ray etc. what a shining example my doctor was. No stone was left unturned. Friday 13th Sept. 23:00 a wonderful and reassuring example of our young doctors. The future looks good if we continue to nurture our young doctors. Thank You Doctor and your nursing staff. Thanks also to the doctor from the surgery team who also came and examined me. 5 Stars. Back on ward Friday 13th Sept. Syon 1. Bed 9. As in my previous post I cannot praise the sisters and all their nursing team for the fantastic care I received for the 6 days on ward. I won't name individual nurses some of whom are nothing short of Living Angels. The wonderful night shift staff included. There are 6 nurses two male who I would loved to highlight as they work non stop under difficult circumstances. How they remain so kind and patient is beyond me. There are real Angels alive and working at West Middx. I owe my health & sanity to you all. Thank You 5 Gold Stars. Surgical Team and Doctors. Thank You all so much. Everything that I was told would happen after my surgery has and is happening. I had a slight post op infection which was possibly down to a Hickman line put. In place 3. Months earlier. These thing happen. My operation was a fantastic success. Everything working as normal. Thank you all so much. Good luck for the future. Point for management. It's the goodwill, dedication and can do attitude of the nursing staff that is keeping West Middx working. I have seen real signs of fatigue among staff due to staff shortages. Please do not push staff over the edge. More ward orderlies would take pressure off highly skilled nurses. They should not be washing beds for example. An idea....once a month all Latte addicts. Meeting groupies. Paper shufflers and bean counters get out into the front line and assist in patient care. Hands on. I think you would learn a lot more than sitting around tables talking about it. Very little evidence of patient interface from above. Decision makers should meet their clients on a regular basis. Warts and all. Cleanliness & Hygiene. Patient toilets and shower rooms. No record of when and who cleans them. No regular cleaning regime. No inspection of these areas. Poorly constructed third party contract? Real concern that patient toilets, shower rooms are not clean. A few signs asking patient to tidy after themselves would help. Poor.
