I have a diagnoses of AS, I was taken to A and E against my wishes, after feeling very down and attempting to self harm. My care and treatment was awful, nothing was explained to me, I felt very alone and frightened and just wanted to go home. I don't normally leave my home on my own to places I don't know. I felt very panicky and very anxious and had to get out of the hospital , I approached a nurse and asked if they could help me arrange transport to go home as I was brought in by ambulance and had no money with me, I struggle with social situations and didn't know how or what to do to get home, the nurse asked if I had been discharged by the doctor, another nurse was present and said no she hasn't, I said I wanted to discharge myself, the nurse then said in a rude and callus manner, " then we do nothing for you " and walked away. I left the hospital feeling very distressed and frightened. I felt even worse than I did before I was bought in, no support was offered to me to help with the issues I have, i was told by the doctor that if my blood results came back ok then I would be discharged I wasn't asked if I needed or wanted to talk to somebody about the problems I am having I was treated as if I was being difficult and a time waster they showed no understanding or empathy towards me.
