"The ambulance staff that collected ..."

About: North Manchester General Hospital North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust

(as the patient),

What I liked

The ambulance staff that collected me from my home were wonderful

What could be improved

There seemed to be no communication between people. Everybody was independent of everybody else. Plenty of people busily writing or computing at the nurses station but none that seemed to have anything to do with the patients. Nurses obviously overworked. Once the ambulance people dropped me the mood changed from hopeful to hopeless and the woman greeting us at the emergency door made Grumpy the Dwarf seem like the Bluebird of Happiness. Waited about three hours in reception bathed in fear and pain and was told by an orderly "That was quick!" Are there Matrons any more? If not why not? Oh...and mixed wards are like something from the dark ages! Sorry...but just telling it like it was.
