"appointment waiting time"

About: Fairfield General Hospital

Anything else?

I was booked in for a 2pm appointment. At 3pm while still waiting, I inquired as to when my appointment was likely to actually take place. Nobody knew. I explained that I had another important 5-30 and asked if I was likely to see the doctor soon. I was told it was an afternoon appointment not specifically 2-00pm even though their letter said 2-00pm. Rather disgruntled and worried about missing my other appointment I waited till 3-30 and told the staff I had to leave to travel. I was offered no explanation or apology. Prior to the appointment I had been informed not to eat for 36 hours and given laxatives, which ensured I did not sleep for 2 nights which did not lend me toward incompetence. A very badly organised (overloaded) system.
