"extremely pleased with care during labour"

About: Queen Charlotte's Hospital

Anything else?

I gave birth to my first Baby here in July 2011. I had a one to one midwife who made me feel so at ease through out my pregnancy, She was brilliant. I was induced due to high blood pressure, i then had a complicated labour and biirth which resulted in my daughter being born by forceps, I wasnt left once during my labour and was talked through everything all the doctors nurses and midwife's were brilliant my daughter was born healthy (thanks to their quick response) and I could not have been more happy. The only I thing I was not happy with was the after care from some of the midwifes on the Edith Dare Ward! I was a first time young Mum (Only 19) and some of the midwifes were rude and unhelpful, I hadnt slept for over 48 hours my back was killing me from the epidural one of my legs was still.numb my baby was screaming and wouldnt keep any milk down she then was sick all over my bed sheets when I asked for my bedding to be changed I was then handed some sheets and told I had to do it myself! I heard a few arguments in the ward between vistors and staff, o cannot fault all the midwifes as some of them was amazing. I would give birth here again if I had another child couldnt have been more pleased with the care during labour but would hope I didnt have to go on edith dare ward again.
