As an NHS patient, the standard of care, the professionalism of all the staff and all the extras made my visit to Circle Bath so relaxing and comfortable. A hospitality lady met me at reception and took me to day surgery, her manner was so lovely and easy going and she made me feel immediately at ease. Once I arrived my nurse came to see me and have a chat and provided me with a beautiful fluffy dressing gown and slippers. It was explained why my admission time was a couple of hours to my operating time, which made perfect sense and was even told I may go for a walk if I like and my husband could visit the cafe if wanted something to eat (we looked at the menu and it looked brilliant, like that of a restaurant, not a hospital!)  I chose to stay in the pod as it had a (free!) TV with many channels and plenty of (recent) magazines. The best bit about my visit so far was that nothing reminded me of a typical NHS hospital. It didn't smell like one, the staff were so attentive and knowledgable an it was just so relaxing, as if I was in a hotel!  Both the surgeon and anaesthetist came to see me before my operation and explained in detail what was going to happen. They put me at ease and treated me as an individual and not a number and made me feel so safe.  After the operation within a couple of hours I was seen by both the consultant (who explained exactly what he'd done) and the anaesthetist. The room I was in was beautiful, with an ensuite bathroom & view of the countryside. Within a couple of hours I was given a menu with a wonderful selection of meals and upon asking how much it would cost, was told that it was included in my stay! I chose the omelette, which was to a similar standard of that I'd had in France! Well overall what can I say, what a delightful experience of something I had been dreading. It didn't feel like a typical hospital at any point and yet I felt completely content and in safe hands. I would highly recommend this hosital to anyone and to think it was on the NHS is just incredible.
