Anything else?
I was a visitor to Cornwall from London and came for a possible fractured foot. The care by the nurse was efficient and excellent but the unit is very unwelcoming and the reception staff very unfriendly. It was difficult to find reception in the first place as it appeared to be closed with the desk partitioned off and the flap shut. Surely this is unnecessary and seemed to be like reception desks from another era. On top of that the waiting room was full of notices telling patients not to do this and that and warnings about zero tolerance. Very dull and unin inviting. Once we found the receptionist, she was very matter of fact and handed us forms to fill in. Even though I was unable to walk, she requested that I went back to reception to answer more questions. I noticed that this was often the case with other patients too, including one elderly lady who was quite unwell. It takes such a little effort to show you care and help the patients. Once we saw the nurse, the care was excellent except there was no X ray on the weekends. This seems a strange decision as I would have thought it would be needed on the weekends a lot. The unit is not a nice place but the nurse was lovely.
"Very good clinical care but felt that reception..."
