"ECG Test"

About: Croydon University Hospital

Anything else?

The department is located in the purple building. The smallest waiting area is shoehorned in a windowless area in front of the reception. There were not enough seats for the patients, some were standing in the corridor. There are many untidy posters (probably out of date), one says "if you haven't been called within 15 minutes of your appointment time please check with reception". Which I did, only to be told that it didn't apply to patients who had been given numbers. What is the point of this scruffy sign - to irritate & confuse? The office accommodation was a mess, papers all over the place, no wonder things get lost. I was eventually seen over 1 hour past my appointment time. The lady who did my test was very nice. This part of the hospital requires pulling down & starting again. the whole atmosphere is so very scruffy, 3rd world & depressing, being ill here does not inspire confidence.

We are sorry that you had a delay in being seen, although we are glad that you had a positive experience when being treated by our member of staff. Our estates team are in the process of rolling out a substantial programme of improvements to many of the waiting areas around the Trust to improve the patient environment. If you would like to get in touch with us to tell us more your experience of care, and be kept informed about changes we are making, please contact our PALS service on talktous@croydonhealth.nhs.uk or 020 8401 3210.
