"Different trust couldn't access my records"

About: Stafford Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat Telford referral and quality service (TRAQS)

(as the patient),

The treatment I received was good. There was however a problem with this hospital being a different NHS trust to my own - they can't have access to my records because of being a different NHS trust.

As a result the doctor has to ask a lot of questions to "fill in the blanks"! He was nevetheless a very good doctor, doing his job well.

In future, for sake of ease of access of patient information, I may stick to own NHS trust in my locality.

Dear "Immense487"

Thank you for your feedback.

Access to records is an ongoing problem as NHS systems do not currently "talk" to each other and I appreciate how frustrating this can be. I am currently in dialogue with the relevant teams to see if there is anything we can do differently to improve this.

Kind Regards

Angela Grocott
