"Shocked, dismayed and extremely upset"

About: Arrowe Park Hospital

Anything else?

My 77 year old father is in the late stages of kidney and liver cancer and has been under the care of the hospice for the last six months. Things took a turn for the worse on Thursday 12th September when he had to be rushed to Arrowe Park Hospital because he could not breath properly and was put on oxgen. I accept that my father has not got long to live but since being in this hospital he has just deteriorated rapidly and the way he has been treated in this hospital is appauling, just left in his own urine and blood, he did not get a wash for 4 days until we complained, nobody bothers with him, he is just left slumped in a chair, he has no dignity. When you walk onto the ward the nurses scurry away like rats. I just hope to god I never have to go in there. I don't know how they call themselves nurses. We do more for him when we go and visit. The floor around his bed is filthy and has had the same blood and urine stains around it since he was admitted. It is extremely upsetting enough watching your father die without having to worry about him being ill treated and not cared for. Just hope and pray we can get him into the hospice or back home with us
