"Cardiac Unit"

About: Westmorland General Hospital

Anything else?

I was admitted to the cardiac unit on the 12th September and from the first moment of checking in with the receptionist to being taken onto the ward I could not have had better treatment. The staff were all friendly and experienced with a wide range of knowledge and understanding about my procedure and the worries I had and they helped me feel at ease. I am a 19 year old female and the procedure I was having done made me feel anxious and a bit worried and when I rose this with the staff they organised for me to have a sedative. During the procedure I was in a lot of discomfort and without asking a nurse very thoughtfully offered me her hand to hold which made me feel 100% better. After the procedure I was quite shaken and the nurse who was looking after me was very kind and talked to me about it, she offered me pain relief and a very appreciated cup of tea. I was allowed home within an hour of having my procedure done. All the staff on the cardiac unit are angels, very friendly and efficient in their roles.
