I attended an appointment with my daughter and was horrified at the attitude of the Dr and Nurse. The Dr took one look at my daughter, declared her too fat to help, gave her (incorrect) diet advice and sent her on her way advising her to exercise more. He dismissed the findings of the Orthadpaedic Specialist without a proper examination of the patient, made no effort to find out what my daughter actually ate, told her to throw away the pain meds because she probably suffered from Pain Relief Syndrome and took no account that, in order to be able to exercise, she needs help to relieve the pain so she can. This man was arrogant and condescending, only listened to what he wanted to hear whilst cutting across us as we spoke, is obviously prone to judging by appearances and has no idea what it is like to live in pain (despite his protestations) coupled with chronic fatigue. We are not arguing about the fact she needs to lose weight, nor the fact she needs to exercise or that both will assist in her pain management. However, if she is 'locked into position' when she stands up because of the excruciating pain, then she needs something to reduce the inflammation that is causing it to assist her to do these things. Showing her pictures of carrots and peanut butter really did not help. Oh, and incidentally, just by the bye, she can't eat peanuts which is what you gave her!
