"The staff attitude and patient ..."

About: The Devonshire Rehabilitation Centre

(as a relative),

What could be improved

The staff attitude and patient care needs to be addressed.

The patient are elderly they speak to them abruptly and with no respect. Patients are afraid to ask for anything ie personal hygiene matters because they are rude and leave them waiting. My mum is a patient at present and i have whitnessed outrageous attitude from the staff it is very upsetting to see.

The policy 'dignity and respect' needs to be addressed to the staff. They need reminding that it is a hospital that cares not a prison, they are there to help and care not treat patients as an inconvenience and certainly not make them afraid and their stay uncomfortable.Because somebody is elderly you do not need to treat them like a child these people have probably lived through a war brought a family up and deserve respect and dignity.
