Anything else?
I was originally taken into A & E on Sunday 1st September with breathing problems and high temperature. I was quickly diagnosed with having a high temperature and infection in my Hand that would need operating on. I was taken to EAU until Monday 2nd September when i had the operation by the plastics team after my operation i was then taken to ward B344 and i have to say the all the staff on this ward were excellent nothing was too much trouble. I was on this ward for two days and was taken to billericky ward twice daily to have my hand dressed. As i was having breathing problems and no one had seen me about this problem the surgeon who operated on my hand was not willing to discharge me until someone looked into my breathing problems. I was then moved to ESS ward as B344 does not deal with breathing problems and to have further tests. After a number of XRays and Scan it was found i had Blood clots on the lungs and Pneumonia. Whilst i was having a CT scan it showed i had a patch on my spine and the orthopaedics team were called. They asked for a MRI scan to be done and a number of other tests. The results of the tests were the T12 Vertebrae is hollow on the inside and has a lateral fracture. The orthopaedic team came to see me Friday 13/9/2013 lunch time and advised i must stay in bed as much as possible, not bend over, not pick up anything heavy or make lateral movements with my back and my case would be discussed on Monday 16/09/2013. At 17.10pm Friday the doctor from Medics came to see me and advised i was being discharged. I explained to the doctor what the orthopaedic team had said to me earlier in the day and he advised me the orthopaedic team were just frightening me and if i stayed in hospital i would be caught up in a loop and sit there for two months. That the professor would never come to see me in the ward i would have to see him as a out patient Etc Etc. I can go into more detail if required. Even the nurses advised me if the orthopaedic team wanted me to stay in hospital then i would be staying in until Monday. However I was discharged by the doctor's team on saturday morning 14/9/2013. I am now sat at home wondering what on earth what is supposed to be happening in regards to my back. On a happier note I would like to say thank you to all the Nurses on A&E, B344, and ESS they were true professionals. Many of them going that extra mile.
