The Endodontic treatment at Charles Clifford Dental Hospital is excellent and I can recommend this section without reservation, based only on the Consultant led team it was my privilege to be treated by. After a number of years of pain below two teeth, it was wonderful to have both teeth successfully treated and saved. This section did exactly what Restorative Dentistry is supposed to do. They expertly restored my two teeth! I believe this Consultant led team has a positive and responsible attitude towards healing and, this can only be the best example of the level of expertise that Government are expecting to achieve in the NHS. I have to say that my husband's treatment at another section of Restorative Dentistry was the opposite. My husband received conflicting reports on the likelihood of saving a tooth, granted that one report was 6 months after the first. However, the time difference was to a greater part in the hands of that particular section. We had travelled a fair distance expecting treatment for my husband only to be met with a consultant, another dentist watching and a nurse. Instead of my husband being treated, we ended up with yet another "second opinion" which would result in my husband's tooth being lost. I also felt that the whole meeting was negative in that more was said about why my husband couldn't be treated than why he could. It also seems that my husband's age was a main negative focus particularly in relation to my husband's back problems and reclining position. My husband and I cannot reconcile this because of course, he regularly visits a dentist. Older people do not need dismissing and teeth pulling out, they need their teeth. They just need dentists who care. I am not happy with the way my husband's treatment has been left, which obviously requires more specialist skills. To my mind, this section did exactly what you do not expect expert Restorative Dentistry to do, in my husband's case their end result was loss of teeth. I could recommend Charles Clifford on the basis of my treatment but I do not think my husband's treatment does Charles Clifford any credit at all.
