My two and Half year old son was taken in to a and e with a severelly swollen scrotum the only down fall was it took an hour to see the triage nurse! When we saw him he said what on earth has happened to him rushed him to see a doctor straight away got all the consultants out even got someone out on call to see him and brought someone in to do an emergency scan, my little boy was absolutely fine in himself jus had the swelling. They kept him in overnight let me stay with him the next day the consultant came round and gave me the option to stay or go home and come the next day to see the consultant again to check him ( because my little boy was fine in himself) at this point they ha already given him a diagnosis and Basicly the swelling should reduce on its own . They used marker pen to show where the swelling was and I decided to go home went back the next day the swelling had reduced the consultant was happy but said if I wasn't happy then I could go back whenever and him or his colleague would see my little boy ! I am happy how they treated this situation the only downfall was it took so long to see the triage nurse I guess it goes in priority tho and a head injury sounds worse than swollen testicles there was children in a and e with bumps on head got seen straight away then back in waiting room told two hour wait to see the doctor. My little boy was straight through as soon as they seen him so maybe if I pulled his pants down showed receptionist she would of put him to see triage nurse sooner.
