"MRI scan result.... a waiting game?"

About: George Eliot Hospital - Acute Services / Neurology

(as the patient),

I had my scan on July 18th. My gp did not receive the report until early September after chasing GEH and when he did receive it it had not been scanned into the computer properly so some of it was unreadable. The report was written less than a week after my scan so where was the hold up?

Prior to the scan I had tried several times to contact the unit on the telephone number given but was unable to. It transpires that the receptionist in the area does not work the same hours every day and when she is not there the telephone goes unanswered. One of the nurses in the x-ray department said it would be helpful for them to have calls transferred to their department. More importantly this would be helpful to patients.
