"I was seen in A&E quickly"

About: Royal Preston Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was seen in A&E quickly

What could be improved

I had to ask the nurse if I should wash my hands after going past the big 'clean area' sign. An act I thought was compulsory.

There was no dental care provided at the time.

The nurse who saw me was extremely tired and had dificulty focusing on what she was saying to me. I felt very sorry for her as she was clearly overworked.

The signs are there as a reminder to encourage patients, visiotrs and staff to cleanse their hands. We are determined to reinforce the good hand hygiene message to staff and the Trust has embarked on a concerted programme of cleaning to help control the spread of infections
