"The staff in the Ultrasound department ..."

About: Royal Preston Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The staff in the Ultrasound department where friendly, putting me at ease, gave me answers to my questions and were very helpful.

Also the staff in the Blood Test Clinic need to be congratulated on their fast and competent service. I am not easy to get blood out of and they made the whole experience easy and as pain free as possible!

What could be improved

The doctor who saw me in the Gynaecology department was rude, did not listen to my concerns about the medication I was prescribing, was unhelpful in suggesting a plan to manage my symptoms and generally left me feeling extremely unconfident in my treatment. I have to return there whenever I get another appointment. I am really not looking forward to it.

We are pleased that you received a high level of care in the Ultrasound Department and Blood Clinic, however, your comments regarding the doctor in Gynaecology is a cause of concern.

Regarding your other comments, such behaviour is unacceptable and we expect all our staff to treat patients with dignity and respect at all times. We would be grateful if you would contact the Trust to discuss this in more detail so that we can investigate further and take action if necessary, including ensuring that you are seen by another doctor.
