Having read the reviews previous people have left and given my own experience I have to say I doubt anyone goes to work intending to do a bad job or provide a substandard level of care and while the experiences of some of the reviews here are not excusable i do think we need to look at our use of the department. If you have not suffered an accident or been involved in son kind of emergency why are we there?! I witnessed people drunk, swearing at staff, attending with problems they have had for many years and then becoming frustrated that they wait several hours to be seen. Perhaps if departments and services were used appropriately and we could get GP appointments then people having strokes would not be waiting unacceptable hours to get treatment and the lady on reception wouldn't look so surly! I was involved with a close friend being seriously unwell and they were treated promptly, diagnosed quickly and referred appropriately and are now receiving ongoing treatment.
