My husband was recently taken to Colchester A& E following chest pains; from our arrival we were treated with the upmost respect and efficiency. The hospital staff treated every patient with dignity and respect. Unfortunately, there was one patient who spoke to staff as if they were dirt and stomped off threatening to report everyone there. Even though the doctor was verbally abused, he remained dignified and pleasant in his handling of the situation. Despite the NHS having problems at higher levels, the front-line staff deserve every respect and consideration. Following the outstanding treatment received in A&E, my husband was then referred to cardiac clinic and seen the following week. When a problem was detected at the clinic he received further, more in depth investigation within 4 weeks. Everyone we have seen at Colchester, from A&E, X-ray, haematology, clinic and the angiogram suite have delivered exceptional care.
