"Excellent care in AMU"

My very elderly father recently had a prolonged stay in AMU following a fall. The AMU is an extremely busy unit, yet the standard of care that my father received was truely excellent. My mother was kept fully informed at all times regarding his progress and she was treated with great consideration herself. It was clear from observing the work of the AMU over a 14 day period that they work extremely well as a team, the patients are treated with dignity as individuals and despite the workload seeming impossibly heavy at times, nothing was too much trouble. From the ward sisters and consultants down to the ward clerk and the lady who organised mealtime orders, they were a thoroughly professional and hard working bunch. We can't praise them enough and we are very grateful.

I was very pleased to read that the staff provided excellent care in a busy environment and worked well together as a team.

The positive attitude and behaviours are a reflection of the can do approach we instill in our staff to promote an excellent experience for patients and their families.
