"A very difficult situation being resolved with the assistance of skilled and professional intervention"

About: Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust Oxford Private Care Shrublands South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as a relative),

A catastrophic chain of events led to my mother being unsafe at home and extremely depressed and unhappy. My mother was let down by a locally based domiciliary care agency who did not turn up at the designated times leaving my mother saturated in her own urine and very distressed. When she contacted the call centre by pressing her alarm, she was attended by the local community support officer, the ambulance service and district nurse, all of whom expressed grave concerns about her personal welfare. As her daughter, I felt that I had an overwhelming duty of care to ensure that she was placed safely in familiar and welcoming surroundings.

Shrublands in the first instance provided respite care for her. When she was ready to return home, she was then presented with a satisfactory option of returning to Shrublands as a day client with wrap around care provided by Oxford Private Care.
