Anything else?
12 months ago i was told i had cancer of the esophagus. My treatment was then commenced starting with chemo and 3 meetings with the Consultant and gi nurse. On one occasion the Consultant arranged to see me during his lunch break.Chemo finished on boxing day and was then followed by more scans and a further meeting with the Consultant. He again gave me the choice to change my mind about the op,having already explained it was going to be about a 7hour op.There never was a doubt in my mind not to go ahead,so much confidence in him and the team had grown on me.On 18th feb i arrived at 7 am for the usual test and 12 hours later came round. The Consultant had phoned my wife and gave her the good news, and he visted my me every day untill my discharge and the care from all the team was superb. Will always remember when he told me they had removed all the cancer and no more treatment was required. The service you have with a gi nurse is very comforting. From a patients care it is very comforting to to have direct contact if a problems arrise and one particular member of staff was excellent with help.Forget about what the press say about the nhs,our cancer care in cheltenham and gloucester is the best. Thanks to all.
