"the consultant was rude"

About: Frenchay Hospital

Anything else?

the junior was not skilled in neck so my appointment was a complete and utter waste of NHS money! he was rude and showed little interest and even though he knew I wanted to see a neck surgeon within the hospital as I was rather unhappy with my local hospital he did not ask if I would like to see someone skilled in neck within his hospital, so I therefore left during the consultation most unhappy. I would not attend this hospital again.

Dear Anonymous – I am sorry that your consultation was so unsatisfactory. All junior doctors have access to consultant advice at all times, and therefore if any there was any doubt as to the treatment or care you required this should have been checked. What ever the circumstances rudeness towards patients is not tolerated and I am sorry that this was your experience. Clearly you have not received the standard of care we would expect for any patient visiting North Bristol NBS Trust and for this I apologise. Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately I do not have enough information to investigate further, but if you would like to send the particulars of the appointment and your own personal details to complaints@nbt.nhs.uk we would be very happy to take up the matter for you as we are keen to ensure no other patient is subject to your poor experience. Kind regards – Steve Sykes Advice and Complaints Team.
