About: Weston General Hospital

Anything else?

As always had to wait to be seen, but expected. I'd had a horse riding accident and was brought in by ambulance. The staff were very friendly but after nearly 6 hours lying on a bed I had still not been offered anything to drink & the morphine wasn't helping. Same questions asked by about 4 different people and though I gave them my mobile number no less than 3 times they have been contacting my next of kin all week saying they don't have my number. Discharged in a wheelchair as largely unable to walk (broke 4 transverse processes on spine), and when I called the next day asking why my discharge form was blank regarding possible home care/assistance they said if they'd realised the need they would have organised something...I was in a wheelchair and heavily sedated so was hardly going to strike up a conversation about it. Issued with crutches but no back brace to prevent curving of the spine while healing. Now a nightmare to organise this! Living with family as unable to care for myself and now having a tough time organising some help...
