We were sorry to learn that you experienced a long wait to be seen when you attended the A&E Department. With regard to patients being seen before you who had arrived after you, the Northwick Park Site is fortunate to have an Urgent Care Centre (UCC) based within the A&E Department. The UCC provides an emergency service for patients presenting with minor injuries and illnesses. The UCC shares a waiting room with the main Emergency Department. This may at times cause confusion for patients waiting as there are two services operating from this waiting area which may progress through their waiting list at a different pace. All patients who attend are seen on their arrival by a clinical member of the UCC staff and are allocated to either of the streams depending upon their clinical need to ensure that the correct level of priority is established.
