What I liked
due to myself being very ill, the care from the nurses was excellent due to one to one care.
my bed was comfy because it vwas an air bed, and i was very sore.
What could be improved
(after my surgery, when moved on to the ward, i felt that the nurses were run off their feet, i am not one for wanting help, i like to get on i being self motivated, but if you are not motivated to get your self better i feel that the nurses didnt have the time or compassion to help, they were all friendly but seamed very stressed, due to wards being busy, it was a bit like a production line, i returned a few times to the hospital with post op problem ,that only now have been resolve ,my op was dec and now its april, due to my insistants and that of my doctors. aftet care is something that needs looking at when major ops have been carried out , you are just left to get on and no imformation given about the do's and dont's,apart from distict nurse to dress your wounds.
The food was awful, salad, I have given better to the rabbit ,IT CAME PART WARM, Where are the 5 a day fruit and veg you need for a healthy diet? at bed time tea or coffee? that will make you sleep not! where is the horlicks ?
if you were booked in late and missed diner you couldnt have anything not even a peice of toast til morning. I know that it is a buisiness ,but the accountants at the top want to be try being seriously ill in royal blackburn, see if they like the treatment they recieve, plua having to be in recovery for 37 hours because their is NO BED.
